Pusa 1121 is a patented Basmati rice from North India, which hasthe longest grain in the world, Pre- & Post-cooking.
It has two varieties - White & Golden.
Based on the milling process, both varieties could be divided as-
#Brown rice - most nutritious, retains bran, takes longer tocook, unesthetic appearance, tendency to burst on cooking, chewytexture, ideal for casseroles,stir-fry dishes
#White polished rice - loses bran & nutrition, cosmetic look,more easily break during handling, very aromatic, sweet taste,used as plain steam rice
